Familiarization Stay at Fairmont Singapore
Yes, I can say though I stayed with someone I'm not really closed with but I did enjoyed my stay at FS! It's like to can have demanding requests and asked a list of qns because I'm a guest! Ahahaha. Anw the in-room dinning chix rice was da bez manzx! Feel so pampered to have the food served to their room leh! If only I can stay longer...alone! Ahahaha

Familiarization Stay
so FS always like to constantly improve themselves uh.
now they introduced a programme called Familiarization Stay!
we get to stay at FS for a night! sounds like a good deal right?!

NOOOOOOOOO. i end work at 7.30pm on that day and the next day i'm starting work at 10am PLUS i have to finish up a 10pages filled with checklists and tasks that I need to finish before i check out that day. woohoo. GREAT manzx!
most importantly i'm staying with someone i'm not a least bit close with!
okay, i will be using my interpersonal skills then.
anw i'm left with 25working days after taking out my off days, 3 PH and 2 leave.

I want a personal make-up artist
Woah seriously I failed badly in make-up! I know nuts abt it and even after attending the make-up lesson yesterday im still clueless! But whatever la, internship ending soon. I don't need those thick make-up anymore.
And during my makeup lesson, I talked to a girl from sp, then I realized many people working in the hotel confirm will cry. Even a full time colleague told me, everyone who works there will definitely cry at least once. What a cui place.
Another thing is, I think my sip grades will be damm cui. Get blacklisted for grooming, my check-in etc!
So today took mc to rest at home because I've been sick for like 4days alr! Every one has been telling me to rest at home.
And my countdown continues...

Mid-shift FTW
Okay I need to get my appraisal ASAP!
think my manager lost hope on me alr, she asked me to buck up liao! Means she think I'm underperforming but seriously for the past 3weeks when she wasn't with us, I didn't do anything wrong. Only a small mistakes I've made and she kinda condeemed me. Oh my goodness.
Anw my cash float shortages has now brought up to FS by our LO. And the HR talked to us as well as security. The security guy is so niceeee.
And even the guest services know what is happening at the FD. Kenneth was asking me, why I didn't tell him about it. It's funny la, why would I just randomly tell him I lost money right?!
And I had my FD certification today, another funny matter. Im like leaving soon Liao then I still need to do my certification.
And my countdown continues!

I love classroom session
Yes people, I freaking love classroom session!!! Because it's the only time where I get to let my hair down and I get to do and say things I like! I'm not a least bit restricted. It's like I feel so relaxxx!
And of course I get to meet friends whom I've not met for some time. Like Jojo! Seriously work has taken up all y leisure time la.
Need to start planning for movies, ktv and food date with everyone!
It was a nice catchup with fivegirlsclique though I didn't had time for Stephy! Ya, and I have to thanked them for listening to my complaints and everything. Same goes to Ms Claude who has been providing advices and taking down what we said!
It felt great when you get to vent out your frustration! <3 and of course cheap bags from editors market! Woots! And and Amd gonna get me the transformers bottle! Yay! Imma happygirl91 today! ππ❤

I.need.to.be.strong
From the photos, you can see how ulu and secluded our team building session was held. The super boring games and gossiping session, oh man I really hate it.
Anw I'm making new mistakes everyday but at least I learnt from it right?! For example, I return cash deposit and I posted wrongly so it took me a long time to correct them.
And to take pre-authorization from gst on the spot because their card might declined ah then I gonna suffer from it.
And I really hate morning briefings because the staffs will asked me qns non-stop and I find it diffcult.
And that day I cried at the front desk because my assistant manager was standing beside me while I was dng a check in and my this particular check in took pretty long. As a helpful colleague came and took away my room which I just managed to find and I've alr told my gst I've found a room for her. It's like come on la, you are a senior and you do that to me. And my AM who alr knew this, still scolded me. Like wtf?!
I can't wait for internship to end!!!

Sick of crying
Things hasn't been picking up for me. Life at the company has been getting bad. I've been crying everyday when I get home.
I hate my life now! I hate the decision that I've made to join the company.

words of encouragment
today my mood was really bad because the thought of returning work tml to sign on the colleague discussion form was really bad. i really don't look forward to it and I was scare of dng check-in and check-out.
i send an email to my manager, apologising to her for the mistakes that i've made. i felt the person that i let down is her.
but her reply to my email, made me feel so touched and i've gathered enough courage to work tml.
her email provided me the strength to move on. i'm really grateful to have this one and only great manager.
so my main aim now is: NEVER to have double rooming agn. NEVER be so careless again. USE my follow-up form wisely. IMPROVE on my check-in and check-out interactions.
okay, i feel so much happier now. :))
looking forward to next weekk, classroom sessions.

mistakes
ever since i started my internship, i don't smile as much as i used to.
the number of times i've used the word fuck, has increased tremendously.
the number of times i had to take cab home because there's no more transport, had been more than the times i had took a cab in my entire 20yrs.
something that i looked forward to before internship.
my passion for front office job has gone.
the stress that i'm getting from my managers, the pressure they placed on me.
the colleagues are not helping me at all.
i've alr broke down 5times within a short span of 1 and a half mth.
this is what you get when working at a five star hotel.
i've been so tired that i have overslept twice in a week.
skipping work and had to pay for a expensive price, that is a mc.
overslept for teambuilding, and had a sarcastic manager, saying oh the double rooming.
and throughout the team building, xy and i were upstairs, having our complaint sessions.
how do we bond with the rest?! and what for?! does all those bonding even helps?
yes, i made a serious mistakes, that is double rooming.
but i'm not the first. why everyone has to keep probing me on this.
and now i have to await for Sat when i go back to work, with my very helpful colleagues asking me abt my mistakes and my managers giving me the colleague discussion form to sign=admitting my mistakes in black and white. which is a bad record for my internship.
i'm really curious, whether my internsip grades will affect my overall gpa?
yes, till now i'm still unclear.
its 11.11.11, my wish is that i will not make anymore mistakes in FS and time to pass by faster.
i can't wait for 27Jan where all my sufferings will end. really sick of that place.

Day 32&33
I made a terrible mistake on Monday!
I didn't ask a airline crew to pay for his laundry charge. It cost $15 and I nearly need to fork out the money. But thanks to one of the staff helped me. I learnt my mistakes. I need to slow things down when dng billing. I need to check all charges at different windows.
And I also accidentally took an amount of $2500 pre-authorization from a guest. I should have been more careful too.
I also forgot to tell a guests that I'm unable to accede to her request in staying at the same floor with her friend. She was so furious that she walk away.
It's good that I made these mistakes before I go solo. So that I can learned from them.
Like there was once I announced the guests room number so loudly and was corrected by my manager. And the next round I didn't do that agn! :))
Let's hope November will be a good month for me! :))

Cream of chicken
Lol bought this book caused it was inspirational! It's helps me to think positively! And there was a 20% discount plus there was free cream of chicken soup! So worth it! Ahahaha.
And its my birthday! Thanks everyone for their messages. And thanks for the treat from sissy boyf! It was Korean BBQ, I'm so full! There's no picture caused I spend my time eating only.
It's certification week, next week! Need to do my 10check in and check out audits by my managers. Please let everything go smoothly caused I've been really blur and missing out impt details. Internship Day 31
I'm so lazy to do my ejournal la.
Anw today I had to wear my Deepavali costume and the funny thing is, guests says its nice.
Was super busy today caused the Princess Cruise guests which had 100 over rooms were checking in and therefore there were 500over luggages so I was needed to help tag the luggages. All the available bellman were deployed alr but still not enough ah.
Then after helping out it was alr 5pm. And when guests praise me, I'll be so happy la. Love them.
Tml was suppose to be my off day but my manager changed my off day to Sunday instead. I'm sooooo tired alr la.
Okay bathe and sleep. Freaking tired

Internship Day 30
Though many might have alr said our internship has past a month a 14 October but for me it's officially a month that I'VE WORKED!
Anyway today has been GREAT. Conquer my fear of dng c/I and c/o. Really grateful to my duty manager as known as my buddy, she has been really supportive. When I told her not to stand right beside me cause I feel stress, she really stand aside and pretend like shes not listening to what I'm saying, but in actual fact she was quietly listening and after that correcting me.
I love her. Now I'm so much confident though there's still mistakes here and there. :))
Forgotten to take the pre-prepared reg card for the FPC member when I checked him in. Okay I will Remb to do that next time cause they spend a lot of time and effort to do these.
Okay I shall end here now. Indian costume tml. Oh my goodness fugly.

Internship Day 29
I really cannot stand one particular intern leh. She's getting on my nerve. She keeps acting cute in front of those staff. Her voice is different when she talk to us and when she talk to the staff there. She act like she's really nice. And keep showing off to me how the staff love her. Like seriously whatever, it's like as if I care. Can she stop irritating me with her actions. Hitting me with paper as if it's really cute. Oh my goodness.
Anw today I purposely stay and work an hr longer so that I can do check in without the presence of my duty manager/buddy. Told the lobby greeter to send people who are checking in to me. And I have to say, all the trainings is totally different. I totally freaked out at my first check in. I was tongue tied, didn't know what to do, clueless my mind was in a complete blank. It's so embarrassing. Hopefully tml I will do it better because my buddy will be shadowing me and see me dng the check in.
Really gettin stressful as the managers around are putting pressure on me as they say I'm with the most senior person in the office and they have high expectations on me. Im a really slow learner so I might let them down.
And I think I really don't need to face people on Wenesday alr. I've got a super fugly costume for Deepavali. Oh my god.

Internship Day 28
Finally I do smth abt my blog ah! Anw I'm really happy la. Caused after I told my duty manager about my problem with my buddy, she has changed my buddy to herself! Yayness.
And I have to say I'm bored of helping up at the executive club alr leh!! Next friday I still need to go up agn!
Wednesday I'm transformed into bellboy caused there will be a large arrivals from the princess cruise and I think need people to help tag the luggages.
I hope next week I will learn more but I've only 4days to learn manzx!
Next week have to wear Deepavali costumes leh. Think it's ugly leh. Okay suan le complaint also cannot change anything.
Imma a happy girl today. Bought red nail polish so that I can paint my nails to work as red is the only color accepted at work.

Internship Day 26 & 27
So yesterday I was asked to helped up at executive club lounge where they put in nicer terms:cross training. Which actually means f&b. Serving coffee, tea and clearing plates. I was super nervous wen serving the coffee because those people are rich and you know if I do anything wrong then it's gg for me alr. And today I served people in the meeting room, I was super nervous that my hands was shaking because I cannot imagine if I spill the coffee on their laptop or documents. Okay imma joke.
Anw fuck my buddy. I hope she dies young or suffer in old age. She's been venting her frustration on me like for fuck manzx. I really hope my DM will change my buddy for me as I've alr bring this matter up to her alr.
On a happier note, I've been dng a half check in procedure for another intern. It's kinda of fun when you have friendly guests.
Gonna have a meal tgt with another two interns next week. They have Bren really great. Like Adelynn has been helping me and Jeslyn providing me jokes. Ahahaha. they are my gossip buddies! :))
Oh ya and Desmond was really nice to ask me to give him a call next time I'm having break then when he's free he can eat with me. Soooo good.
And now there's two bellman who knew my secrets. Ahahaha. But anw they can be trusted la. They are really niceee too. Always joking Ard, so fun people at the bell desk!!

Internship Day 24&25
So my buddying session starts yesterday. Didn't learn much caused my manager asked me to open the share folder and change all documents font to Arial and font size 11. Their documents is a lot! And I did reg card too! That's all I did for yesterday.
And I brought a guest to a room to show them the room and see whether they want the room or not.
And I got my cash float yesterday, it's freaking 1500$! Oh my goodness.
I can't have time alone caused I will tend to think a lot ah. I will have negative thoughts like I really wanna cry though nth bad happen.
Today took the morning transportation to work cause my work starts at 6am-6pm. So I thought the cab will only fetch me but wtf it was 4strangers in the same cab and the worst thing is I'm sandwich between two guys whom I don't even know. This freaking sucks la.
Hope I'll learn something new tml. I really find it difficult to communicate with my buddy. I wanna try to find YR to talk to her tml. I really need it.

Internship Day 23 & Day off
Yesterday at work was pretty mundane and so it's decided that I will be joining the rest dng the normal check in and check out! After seeing xinyi getting so stress up about her airlines, I think it would be better for me to do the normal check in and out! Ya and the cash float that xinyi will be holding on is 5000$ while mine is 500$. So yup it's safer for me leh. :))
Anw my sai gang journey has ended. Will be starting my buddying session next week. And my buddy is a piney lorhx. Sian max!
My mentor will be a duty manager called Sarah she seems really nice so yup I like her. :))
And yesterday one SP intern did double rooming and was reprimanded ah. Double rooming means two strangers checking in the same room. Though it happen on her I could feel the fear sia. It's so scary ah.
And look at my matchsticks photo. There's two triangle. Just moved 1stick to make it into 4triangles. Solve it. I will post the photo next time. Ahaha. The bellman taught me this. Ahahah.
So today was my off day! Spend it with my dogs, brought them for a swim. Their epic reaction is really cute ah. :)) the shih tzu was the first dog that Skinny growl at. He dislikes him.

So today was my off day! Spend it with my dogs, brought them for a swim. Their epic reaction is really cute ah. :)) the shih tzu was the first dog that Skinny growl at. He dislikes him.

Internship Day 22
So I thought today can be a good day yesterday but it didn't la.
Was suppose to be with attached to group today but didn't get a chance la. :(( I wanna join grp leh cause I cannot be at airline alr. Cannot see all the handsome pilots alr. Why is it that all the Qantas and Bristish Airway pilots so good looking. Could not get my eyes off them. I envy xinyi la she get to check them in next time.
Anw today was attached to a lady whom I didn't like cause my group buddy was busy to teach me. She reprimanded me for don't know how many times and also had an awkward lunch with her.
Then today I spend half and hr going through hundred registration cards to ensure all of the guests had checked out alr. Then was signing people up for FPC, dng reg card checking. That's all I did today but it took my 9.5hrs away. Which was good luh caused it was an agony being with my buddy yah know.

Internship Day 21
Today was a great day manzx! Finally I found one buddy that I like. She's so good la. Patience in teaching me, even when I have a lot of qns. And I think xinyi is gg airline alr la. That's good for her. She get different experience but it's also because the manager has good impression of her. I hope I get into groups though. Please.
So today I was attached to groups. It's all about blocking rooms and reading a whole lot of emails. I think I kind of like it because I didn't look at my watch at all la. Then I also did pdo which I always enjoy dng just afraid of finding scary things inside the room.
Then was dead move for a guests. Oh my goodness the bellman seriously can earn a lot manzx. They enjoy their work also, causes for them it's fun talking to guests and their supervisor are fun too.
And I got praises by my DM and FO manager today. So I'm a happy girl today. May tml and Friday be the same too. :))

Internship Day 20
Okay today was last day of opera training!
The thought of certification is scary and I'm so disappointed with myself caused we had a quiz and I had my room categories wrongly when I've been memorizing them. Sigh. What is wrong with me.
So today we learn double rooming, upselling, the daily duties and service recovery and downtime. And we also did our Arrival role play incorporating the Forbes standard.
Double rooming can be avoided by control F3! Check there's exclamation mark on the guest name and ensure it's clean. Caused it's super serious mistakes.
Upselling is not really my main concern la cause I don't think I will care abt the upsell monetary award! I alr have problem on arrival. So it's better to focus on the basics first.
And I got my permanent userID alr! Like a YAY. But like retarded I'm lteng!
Then also got my userID for my BA crew funding! Cause British Airway crew can get cash adv and cash return from us.
Service recovery I think if I really need it, I'm gonna just send amenity form for champagne and fruit bowl all these.
Downtime is really helpful when Opera system is down. So we are back to basics, using blank reg card for check in and check out. Everything we have to do manually.
Oh ya can you imagine, I was touched to tears when I see friends messages and mentions asking about my work. Listening to my problems and advising me or comforting me. It just tells me That I'm not alone ah.

Internship Day 18&19
So yesterday was totally not my day! I was sick and had to drag myself to work. Then I got reprimanded twice by the same manager and had to ot for an hour.
I was really sad and on the verge of crying but I told myself, seriously how many times I want to cry. How many times have I told myself to be strong. How many times people have be telling me jiayou and encouraging me and comforting me. Wouldn't I be letting around me down when I break down so easily. So I managed to held back my tears. But I think I alr got condemned by two managers alr.
So the story goes like this. A colleague of mine gave xinyi and me a list of rooms and asked us to update te departing time to 12pm so okay, we saw this one room alr had a 4pm check out timing so we were like okay we should ask before we make any changes. So xinyi went to ask the colleague and I also heard her saying okay change the timing to 12pm also. Then when my manager asked me why I change the timing because it was the username I was using edited the tunic so I got reprimanded, I said I asked before I made the changes but the colleague deny saying I didn't ask. So how do you feel if you were in my shoes. Not your fault got reprimanded tried to explain but still you are at fault. So that's the life of an intern because you have to admit to mistake you didn't make.
Then after that the same manager say I was loitering Ard the lobby not dng anything/following my buddy. But u was helping with the Q and my buddy was the colleague. She was busy so I didn't want to be a burden and stay Ard with her what. So forget it.
On a side note I'm really touched that friends and family are always supporting me regardless of how many times I'm complaining. It's like I'm really thankful to everyone who send mentions in twitter. And ESP Amanda la, I was really touched that she took the initiative to message and asked me what happened. She really honor her words leh. When I have any problems she will show her concern for me. thank you. :))
Anw yesterday I was attached to room controller which every hour we need to print a report every hour from 12pm onwards to see which guests should check out alr but haven't. We will call first if the guests nv pick up then we will go room by room to check if it's alr vacant. If it's vacant then we will raise a DNCO(did not check out) form. Then we will charge the guests for their charges. There's also express check out. we need to block rooms for arrics as well as prepare compendium for VIP guests.
Then today was opera training. We had recap then had check in and check out role play and cashiering practise. We also went through the daily duties then jiu went home and hour earlier. Yay!
Tml last day of training then next week my buddying will start. Hope I get good buddy. Pleaseee.

Classroom Session
So today is my off day and it's also the back to school day! I miss Tp a lot!
I get to see many many people, all the short convo with friends are good enough! At least I get their concern abt my work la.
It was a complaining session ah, everyone was complaining abt their work whether it was too slack or too much things to do. For some it was office politics.
Then it was lunch with clique. I'm so happy caused the five of us can meet up tgt, at last. And most importantly, I missed Amd a lot la. So long nv see her alr.
Then it was real steel with Steph and Aisyah. I seriously feel bad, wasnt paying attention to what they were saying la. Keep zoning out because I was super sleepy with my flu, sore throat and cough. But in the other hand, real steel was really awesome la.
Like seriously in my off days I'm trying to enjoy myself. Then all this illness have to come knocking on my door.
Oh ya to Remb myself Amd had a pay rise and she promise to treat me food. Ahahahahaha
Okay got to sleep Liao. I'm really tired ah.

Internship Day 17
So I've updated my yesterday blog post ah.
Anw today is another oh my goodness information overloaded day.
Did check in role play today. I was horrible la. Always thought it would be easy la. But to find the correct words to use is difficult. To Remb every steps is difficult as well. I'm gonna write my script out and practise them and also rewrite my notes manzx.
Did cashiering too! It's complicated. There's routing, transferring of transaction, paid out, pre-auth, manual posting, direct billing.
I need to know FPC members have complimentary Internet access and local calls so need to transfer away to room 8100 while for corporate/package/Ethihad: these have complimentary Internet access so transfer to 8107. Fedex is 8101.
There's also dispute charges for the refreshment centre aka f&b! When the guests say they did not consume then we need to do this process. Transfer to 8106!
Paid out could be BA crew allowance and those miscellaneous items such as taxi fares because the guests might not have cash to pay but they have credit card so need to charge.
Rebate: qty must be negative sign. for void or rebate, we must fill up a adjustment form.
Then for settlement we have direct billing is to TA or billing to master a/c! For all of this, in the supplement field we need to write the reasons ah.
So ya today was a long and tiring day.
Off tml but I can't sleep for all I want. Caused there's classroom session gg back to tp! Gosh I missed sch manzx. So I better not say anything ah, don't wish to let other people know what I'm gg through.
Then shall lunch with clique after that meeting Step, Anna and Aisyah to celebrate their birthday.
And Annas birthday is coming also need to buy smth for her.

Internship Day 16
Oh my goodness today is information overload day leh! There's so many things to Remb!
Learnt the telephone etiquette, room categories, creating guests reservations and the arrival check-in(basics).
So for telephone etiquette because I've alr picked up 2phone calls before so I've an idea how to speak ah. And it goes like this:good morning, this is Liwen from reception, how may I assist you. :)) or to put them on hold tell them is it possible to out you on hold while I look for the information then after that thank you for your patience.
Then the room categories, I must say this training really helps me understand it. We toured Ard the different room categories. The penthouse is oh my goodness. We were split into 3grps to write information about 2rooms that we had the deepest impression.
So there's Fairmont room(C), Signature room north(P) & signature south(H),Deluxe room(D), deluxe harbor view(X), Executive club(E), plaza view suite(B). Deluxe harbor view and executive club are non smoking rooms. The penthouse was damm steady la. It's freaking big. There's a BBQ pit ah. I post the photos.
All signature rooms have king size bed only the rest have both king and double. Then lvl9 is smoking.
We also learn the FO terminology. Like did not check out(dnco) pre block etc
Learnt some shortcut like shift f7 is telephone book. Shift % helps to type partial name like Liwen but I cannot find Liwen so I do that function and search wen like that. Then all names got wen will appear ah.
Control f3 to see the profile search.
Creating reservations was okay caused we learn it in sch before. All reservation type must be credit card guarantee or full deposit received! Then the payment, breakfast plan must fill up.
We have 11frequent flyer program with airlines: American airlines, united airlines, air china, air Canada, Qatar airlines, Cathay pacific, Singapore airlines, Lufthansa, emirates, etihad and Alaska.
We learn to read the various comments also ah. Caused it's short form ma so need to learn how to read them.
Also we learn the different breakfast plans and the newspaper that's available. Financial times got limited so we cannot keep offering them.
International Herald Tribune Sunday don't have so Sunday we send Sunday times. We need to offer IHT or local Straits Time. There's 2japanese paper and 1 Lian he zao bao for Chinese guests. We have biz times and wall street journal.
I think that's all we learn ah. Tml need to bring u notes back to learn alr.

Internship Day 15
Hello people my Opera training starts today.
Today was pretty light, it's still manageable. We learned abt the FPC which is a loyalty program for guests we practise how to create a guests profile using our own name then we also signed ourselves up for the FPC so if next time I stay with them I get complimentary Internet access and local calls and there's Fairmont Fit where I can have the adiddas sport set(need to return at the end of my stay)!
Then we learned about the different type of guests. There's 7types: T1(club),t2(premier),t3(platinum),t4(circle),dv,SA and v1! Those v1,t4,t3 and dv guests we need to inform our manager to come out and welcome them. :))
Dv aka distinguished visitors: recognized by designation such as directors of big companies, pay 500$ and above, stayed for 10nights and lastly the famous agents are TA who help to sell a lot of hotel rooms.
V1: celebrities, president of large companies, people coming for site inspection and could contribute a lot of room revenue, those spending 1000$ and above.
SA aka special attention: HR, BD and AN, honeymooners, birthday and anniversary respectively. Or those demanding guests.
Each and everyone are recognized by different colours ah!
Tml gonna da bao food since it's a informal setting. Can eat inside ah.
So today I'm being more vocal since I know the answer to the qns and it helps speed up the training process(people keep staring at me). Okay I can't please everyone.
The manager come by to talk to us which I think is like scaring us. Okay la prepare us for the FO task. They say we were definitely have to fork out our own money to make up fir the shortages of cash! It's only whether the sum is large or small. I hope mine is a small amt like 10$ or lesser ah! Seriously I cannot afford to pay more leh.

Internship Day 13&14
Mr Chew came today manzx! He was super nice bought donuts for us! <3 him la.
Anw today did 2dead move with two diff bellman! I really like the bellman lorhx. All of them are so friendly, funny and chatty. It's like they don't ostracize anyone. They are really nice.
Things are picking up now. I avoided contact with them.
And I really must praise this girl who are so good at bootlicking manzx. It's like people who dislikes me love her. Or rarer everyone loves her. Or maybe I lack interpersonal skills la. Really need to improve on this. I don't click with any of my colleagues except people from Tp. Oh my goodness.

Internship Day 12
Internship Day 12
Okay after working 12days today is the best la. I simply love today because I get to sit inside the back office all day long and do nth much except reg card(I volunteer), photocopying and pasting the room details on the enevlope. Like woots I don't even need to answer calls leh!(because I took wrong information while picking up a call, so my buddy forbid me to pick up calls) but now the phone ringing tone keeps coming to me. Can't stand it manzx. It's like oh my goodness.
Anw today I was attached to the airline staff(as in she is in charge of taking care of airlines check in and check out, dng the room blocks for the airlines). Her job is much more complicated at the back office, while closing she has 4envelopes to report on her cash float(the usual agents only had one). Then she needs to do all the room block herself(usual agents has the reservations done for them) as the airlines has specific preferences such as high floor, dont wanna stay near the elevator.....
But when checking in it's super easy, all she needs to do is just ask them sign a form and everything else is alr done.
She has to prepare the crew allowance too. And I helped her to cut the keys(it was a lot manzx).
And then a short meetup with the girls. :))
So to sum it off today has been great. Let's hope my remaining 2 days as lobby greeter will be as great as well.

Internship Day 11
Oh my goodness I received my first pay check for internship! The feeling of having $300 deposit into your a/c feels good. Even though these amt is kinda miserable ah.
Anw I've endured my lobby greeter for near 2weeks alr. Though I dread it a lot, I still managed to pull through despite all the setbacks manzx. I've learned not to break down so easily liao. Learned how to skive during work, like walk really slow to send cards to in-room dining. And also steal pastries to eat. If not it's so unfair la, I have to go from lobby to lvl23 to bring down just for them to eat.
I still have 3more days of lobby greeter to endure. Oh my goodness, crossed fingers** then it's 3days of opera training. I hope I won't repeat lobby greeter agn la. I wanna do smth else alr. Bored and tired of lobby greeter though I like decorating the birthday cards and guest rooms.
Oh ya today I learned how to cut keys for guests. So many of our keys always don't work so there will be guests q-ing to ask us to cut new keys agn and ESP when all the agents are busy I can verify the guests last name then cut the keys for them. Happy luh. But of course have to thank this china lady who gave us her login details manzx.
And also I did registration cards by updating their pre-auth(the approval amt and code) and profile details(address, contact details).
I also to photocopy the TA vouchers(need to write down the rm number, voucher confirmation number, my initials and the arrival&departure date) then filed the duplicate copy according to the check in dates while the original on check out dates. After that look at the comments and update the comment for example:hav coll TA vchr#****** //lw3009-initials and date!
And I kinda like the daily briefings where they go through everything from the complaints to mistakes that should be avoided. Gg through the check-in procedures and the role play. It's useful.
Shall bathe and sleep Liao. :))

Internship Day 9&10
7am shift is seriously taking a toll on me! Just two days and I'm alr so lethargic. Waking up at 4.30 in the morning is no joke! But the good thing is I get to knock off at 4.30 in the afternoon which means more time for family luh.
Anyway now that this week I no longer had a buddy I'm free to do what I want though it isn't 100% freedom. Im gonna try ordering cake and decorating the room by myself manzx!
And these few days were great with the help of xinyi! Omg I'm really thankful towards her manzx. She made my life so much easier but of course the friendliness of the morning shift staff has also helped contribute too. :))
Anw I really hope that I can start my opera training next week. Really tired of seeing my buddy being so baised to people that sing the same tune as her. Seriously I'm treated like transparent. They sits inside the office all day while I'm dng both of their job! WTS right?! But that's because the supervisor of lobby greeters is not alr!
Looking forward to Saturday to meet the girls! :))

Internship Day 8
I cried like again......have to learn to be stronger manzx! But you know the feeling of not being welcome by your colleagues?! It's like they all come from the same country therefore they speak the same language and they talk bad about you in their language and all(I know because when this particular person starts talking, their eyes became focusing on me) they are in sync but I'm not. They stared at me when I send guests to their counter without asking them(but my incharge says to just send the guests, don't need ask) so what can I do?!
I really hate how they are dragging our opera training. It's like how long you want me to be a lobby greeter AKA sai gang warrior before I officially go for my training?! Most of the guys simple requests such as cutting keys, I can't even help, therefore there's always a Q with people who needs help for their keycards.
Anyway I'm really thankful to people who has been comforting me and supporting me!
On a happy note, big bang was staying at our hotel! Oh my goodness I saw seungri at the lobby, it's like sooo near! I dont need to pay to see them! Ahaaha! But there's actually quite a lot of singers staying with us manzx! I can go into the singer room without knowing who he was manzx! The generation gap that is.
Okay 2off days and I'm gonna be tortured for 5days straight! 7am shift to 4:30pm! Waking up at 0430am! Awesome or what! But at least I don't need to see people whom I dislikes! And what's more cool is that my buddy didn't teach me how to requisite for cakes ad everything and I'm gng solo this week! Cool or what?!

Lobby Greeter for the whole of next week. Worst still, I'm gonna go solo manzx! Wtf
I'm fucking sick and tired of being a lobby greeter. The FO doesn't want to assist me at all.
When the hell is my opera training?!
The rest of HTM-ers get to sit whole day long at the back office but I'm the only one to be standing for 9.5hrs! I'm getting all upset over this manzx.
I'm gonna enter my depression mode agn!
I don't get appreciate for what I'm dng!

Went up a room at lvl 23 to check whether has anyone went into the room because the status in opera is checked in.
Pretty much the same, servig drinks and cold towels to the guests.
Taking plates from in-room dining to place candles as Mr S wants it.
Today was a busy day for the FO but not for me! It wa pretty okay today.
Hide inside the bellman room aka guest services to eat the pastries from executive club.
And the FO manager praised me today, she's said that I'm pretty good, actively approaching the guests. Of course manzx, but I'm even more actively serving the guests when the managers are Ard.
The Caucasian colleague seems so much nicer now!
And oh my goodness my mind is all set: I won't join the hotel industry manzx. Long working hrs + standing is no joke. There's only 45mins break and worked for 9.5hrs. Plus I've been hearing people gg for operation because of all the long hrs standing.
Omg I want to go for opera training ASAP manzx. I don't wanna be lobby greeter anymore.

Basically today I've got no motivation since my eye candy didn't work today.
And I'm such an embarrassment, I broke down at the lobby because Mr S picked on me again. He says that I'm not doing anything and I should approach the guests and talk to them but seriously who in the right mind would go round the lobby and talk to guests who are usih the free wifi available at the lobby to webcam?!
I screwed up a VIP guest. I forgot to serve them drinks and cold towels! I feel so fucking useless. And it's a request by the assistant manager, I think she has a bad impression on me alr.
Anyway today I requisite for flowers at the flower shop and birthday cakes at the in room dining I also get hot water to pour the essence burner.
And I went to a singer room wih my buddy (he's VIP so he has a curbside check in:in room check room that is) whose gonna perform during the F1 period which idk who he is cause diff genre ah!
Served cold towel to another VIP guests.
Learned how to fold the cold towels and also served drinks to the airline crews! Served chocolates and cold towel to a F1 group arrivals as their room were not ready. Oh ya I also get to eat the chocolates and pastries from the executive club lounge.
Anyway my buddy has been much better to me today! :))
Tml and Thursday off let's hope thins get better after my rest days.

Sigh sigh sigh I'm really tired of lobby greeter la! It's like a sai gang job manzx! I'm soo gonna break down soon.
Anyway today met a difficult guests, he asked me abt the Fairmont President Club which I had told him was complimentary just register online or at the desk. He say he gonna feedback to the manager abt the service im providing because of my lack of knowledge so i quickly told him i was a trainee. Lucky manzx. Then he wanted to see the gym facilities before making a decision so I went up to the gym at level6 and showed him around which apparently I was looking at hot guys working out. Woots.
And today was a sai gang day, had to bring muffins from level 23 then go down then go up agn to bring 4 fucking heavy juices down.
And served drinks for guests at the lobby and also cold towels for airline staffs who were checking in.
The routine for lighting up the candles and all is pretty much the same.
And I did a dead move agn with a shatec guy, Benjamin, for the second time. omg I have to say I have a thing for guys who look serious when they are working. At least I get to see this guy till the end of my internship which serves some kind of motivation and also I hope there's more dead move so that I can go with him. Wl Eh I think I sound bimbotic manzx. But I think he attached Liao. Sigh.
And I have to say the female staffs are like b****** manzx(of course not all are bad, people like J and S are really good to me) the guys are so much nicer except for Mr S who doesn't seems like a guy to me! Like wtf, always picking on my grooming but come on la the caps we are wearing seems so much uglier.
And my buddy too! She's like menopause! 80% she's bad to me, 20% she's good to me.
Okay I'm ratting a lot right! I'm sorry people.
Oh ya I'm suggesting for my project like there should be a manual for newbies and express check-out thing there should be instructions as guests might think they can just dropped the key and leave which is not they need to fill up a form.
And I've made up my mind, I'm not gonna join the hotel industry when I graduate.
Okay I'll end here bye people.
Just for my info: in room dining and merchandise shop at lvl2, lvl5 is housekeeping, property maintenance and flower shop.
Crying doesn't help but crying make me feel better than depressing my tears!

Internship Day 3
Internship Day 3
Okay today for the entire day I did Lobby Greeter as the name says it's greeting the guests at the lobby.
Helping to ensure there's proper queueing for guests who are trying to check in and check out and to look for agents who are available for the guests.
For the first thing in the morning is to change the candles at the lobby and to arrange the cushions on the sofas.
And to print out a report showing the birthdays, honeymooners and anniversary for the day. We will then order cakes for people having birthdays, decorating the rooms and writing wishing cards for all three occasions.
I had my virgin experience decorating a room that was celebrating their anniversary today. We used rose petals to decorate the room. I was assigned to decorate the bathroom. I did a heart-shaped!
Had a chance to bring the keycards and to direct the guests to their room as the guests request for a room at the south tower. (rooms from no 1-19 are at the north tower while 20-41 at the south tower) It was a pretty good experience as I get to do this all by myself and I just did what I usually see the staff doing(pressig the doorbell and saying guests services) woots!
The whole of today was answering of enquries which most of the time I do not have an answer for it. Had to keep running around and asked for assistance. But at least for now I know the spa is at lvl 6 as well as the hospitality lounge.(for guests who needs to rest and wait for check in or they had check out and waiting for their flights) For f&b there's 2 options: the prego(8am-11am) just outside the lobby and alligator pear(8am-1030am) at level 8 that is by the pool. To get pastries it's a the prego deli.
Executive club lounge is located at level23!
I also helped up with the tagging of luggages for guests checking out. I need to write their name, room number, the no of luggages and the date.
Dead move is moving of guests luggages in the absence of guests.
I'm getting more demoralized now! Omfg how am I gonna endure these days manzx! And my locker nearly caused me to have an heart attack when it got stuck and didn't opened. Luckily there's two aunties who helped me luh! I'm super grateful!
And I don't understand why I'm always working half an hr more than the rest leh. Wth.
And I'm working from 1330-2300 on Fri-Sun! I prefer a shift that starts at 9am and ends at 0630pm.
Today morning shift at 7am is killing me caused I need to wake up at 0430am and all the buses and trains takes a lot time to arrive!
I shall end here now! Goodnight people.

Internship:start of work life
Now that internship started, it means that I have to start paying for all my expenses. It's no longer stretching out my hands and asking my parents for $$ to pay for my transportation and food. Even though I've alr been paying most of the miscellaneous items. But now that internship started it means that parents are no longer obliged to give me $$. It's kinda sad though, I have to become calculating about everything I buy! It takes me about 10thousand years to decide on the things I want.
But it's good as well, at least there's no implusive buying anymore.
I really need to save up because my bank balance is really depressing manzx. I have a huge expenses plus dogs. Omg.
And people have been asking me, do I regret choosing FO. I gave them an reply: kind of. I know I really love serving people and the sense of satisfaction I get when guests smile to me or even a thank you would make my day. Doesn't all these signs are showing that I really love FO. But on the other hand, the cowardly side of me is telling me that I have to face really nasty guests and omg opera is really difficult there's so many traces and messages etc.... And the working hrs is really long. And this all adds up to having me facing a dilemma. I love FO yet I don't wanna face nasty guests! Which in the real world is totally mission impossible. Working in the front line is all about dealing and facing the guests. I guessed im too naive to still be living in a protected environment. I need to be strong and accept all challenges that are ahead of me and solve all obstacles in front that hinder me to progress! I have to tell myself all these because I believed in myself that I can do it and I truly love being at FO.

Internship Day 2
Its the new hire orientation today! Had the HR staff, Tessa Goh and Security manager, Kuna to run through some of the swissotel and Fairmont values, mission, grooming standards and the rules and regulations! Pretty proud of my grooming since Tp has trained us pretty well in this area! We also went through how to grret guests, identify their surname to greet them. And the security manager was really funny, the way he speak is really funny and it's totally different from his looks. Kuna went through some of the common crimes that could happen in a hotel such as counterfeit notes, loss in guests rooms and outlets, sociliting etc... Helps to warn us to be alert to look for suspicious character and also fire safety where we will learn further when we attend our departmental trainings. (as today consists of trainees from both hotels that ranges from housekeeping to chefs)

And today I asked the others, so pre-auth amt will be deducted from Amex automatically while for other cards such as VISA we will need to do an offline sales! Internship Day 1
Okay people I'm updating because this would help me when I do my journal! I don't really like to write because I won't understand my own handwriting!
So my first day of internship was really okay la! The canteen food was good since I don't like veggies and mushroom but I was able to accept them so means they are really good!
Firstly front desk is divided into lobby greeter, registration card and staff serving the check-ins and check-outs! And these duties will be rotated!
I was assigned to a buddy, Roy who was a Htm grad but I find him weird cos he kept talking to himself! (creepy)
And I shadowed him, standing behind him and see what he was doing and try to Remb the processes, like how to handle ch in and ch outs! The way to speak to guests and how to handle difficult guests! And I realize what we learned from LSO is really useful now because they taught us on the whole checking in process so yup firstly identify the guests, ask for passport then confirm their departure dates, mode of payment and names and also do the pre-authorization amt! In a nicer way to ask is: sir may I check with you what would you like to use to guarantee your stay!
Then cutting of keys!
For check outs, have to ask the guests whether they had any items from the mini bar and remind them to clear their valuables from the safe deposit! Ask them whether they will be making payment using the same card for their pre-auth?! And there's this amt that will be automatically refund back to the guests if there's no charges! Idk what's that!! And for pre-auth when the guests ch out will it be automatically deducted?!
There's also this thing called the dead move where I go with a bellboy who was from shatec and having their internship of 7mths so I better not complained! He was friendly luh and the luggages that he have to carry is heavy! I tried helping but omg it was heavier than it looks! Anyway because it's a dead move the bellboy need someone from the front desk to go with him to ensure things are not left behind and then we will bring the luggages to the new room! And the bellboy told me to check the safe deposits, mini bar and wardrobe!
Had a short duration at the registration card where I go with one of the staff to check whether the room is occupied( as the check out time was 12pm but the guests has not ch out so check the rooms to see if anybody/belongings is still in the rooms. If there's someone inside they will check with the guests what time they will check out then later update the system on the etd! And if there's only belongings then they will send a message to the guests to inform them of the charges( half day charge when the guests check out after 6pm).
And I helped to usher a guests to the concierge and helped them ask abt the cafe buffet lunch prices! And also help to communicate to chinese speaking guests because I had another buddy who was a Korean and can't speak mandarin! And man she was fierce!!
And also had a 4hr meeting too! They talk abt things which I don't understand!
Oh ya what does it mean to release the Amt?! Idk manzx! The front office staff was really busy and didn't had much time for me! I only can look but I can't ask them qns! It sucks to have so many qns marks manzx! Bcos the second week onwards it would be buddy shadowing me to see me dng my work alr!
Will be attending my opera training soon, glad that tp had taught us the basics!
And an orientation on Friday! Today is an off day for me! and there will be a test on the third week! We have to do 10 ch ins and 10 ch outs! Passed to get a cert! So now I'm scareee! What if i fail?!

Suddenly Remb that pilots from bristish airways stay at FS and they are allowed to withdraw adv cash from the FO! Just do some recording and the pilot will be off with the cash! Max amt is 800$ per visit!

Yesterday went for mu uniform fitting and the aunties were really nice but the uniform like a ugly sia! Ahahaha but nehmind for 5mths!
And had a movie marathon with Anna and Steph! That's my first time manzx! And I really love Steph! Accompany me walk home! Lol!

Ogay! Im blogging as im waiting for the second half of la liga to start.I think I'm in love with the food at Timbre! and my freedom is gonna end soon la! 3more days but I can't wait for Mon & Tues to arrive manzx! My date with the siao ding dong and k session with joy &amanda! Woots!
At least I spend my 10days of holiday fulfilling my to-do list!
Oh ya damm sian one leh my class, it's like when I decided to go for the class dinner then no one turns up! WTS but anyway it was cancelled la think my class rep keep the money for himself alr la!
Anyways many people have left/leaving for their internship and I kind of envy them where they get a taste of independent life! No parents no nothing just friends!!! Omg I also want! It's not that I dislike my parents or what! BUT I really wanna experience manzx even though I guessed I will be home-sick and all! Okay too late to regret anyway! Just hope my friends will be all safe and enjoy their internship overseas.
I think I kept saying Amd for not finding out more info on her internship but actually I'm pretty much the same as her la! But not too worry la I can check with the hr people when I go for my uniform fitting this coming Monday!
And I have this problem, I kept gaining weight like nobody business la! I know that it was because of my daily supper la! But there's nothing I can do manzx! When I'm hungry I can't sleep! Soooo sigh! And another problem is my face condition, pleaseeeeee let it remain as it is pleaseeeeee!

internship
Woots, exams are over and I'm left with like 10days before my internship starts...Okay I have this love-hate relationship with internship, kinda look forward and nervous at the same time. Gg out consecutively for 2days is kinda tiring for me! Sigh I don't really like gg to crowded places.
Anyway I'm still deciding whether or not to go for my class outing because there's people whom I don't like! Like seriously I thought exams was the last time that I'm gonna see them agn but to think abt seeing them agn.....not really motivated but on the other hand, that's our 100$ class funds!
And I soooooo like gg to flea market, the rings are really cheap and niceee!
Anyway tml gonna meet the clique and go for my uniform fitting!
I wanna watch smurfs badly la! Can they faster settle on a date. I hate it when people dragggg and dragggg the dates!
And seriously I can't only have this circle of friends right! Lol!
I'm soooo glad there's still Amd whose really understanding and of course know me better. I'm also kind of glad that she clarify with me la cause I lovee her.

Hello people I guessed I've lost my passion for blogging alr!
Blogger used to be a platform for me to pour out my complaints/sorrows as well as sharing my happy moments but nah now I don't do that often alr!
Just plain lazy to do it again!
And I passed napfa, a silver for me! Hell yeah! What up! At least I proved myself!
Anyway exams are coming I'm gonna start studying soon and then I be an intern at Fairmont Singapore, I kinda look forward to it!

Anyway 2d1n buffet was great with the girls!! I don't have to do any cooking, I just sit there and wait for Amd! Ahahaha

Okay it's my two weeks holiday now but I don't get much rest!
From tml till Thursday I will be attending service apartment mentorship. I hope I learned something useful from there and also hope it won't ask me to do shitty tasks. Hope the food is nice too. Okay I have too much requests when its me who wanna join. LOL.
But anyway I'm really happy two great things happened on the same day. Passed my test and I confirmed my placement alr!!! I got into Fairmont, but then agn now my pay will be spend on food since it's at Raffles city=expensive food. Sigh how I wished there's meals provided.
And and watched x-men with Poly friends. Okay can't wait for our next dateeeee!
Went Marina Bay City Gallery and it was totally useless like waste the land space sia! There's nth interesting.

Drifted
Omg I hate myself at times! When I alr know about our SIP yet I'm not doing anything about it! I panic at the thought of going out to the real working world! I'm sooo scared of all the interviews that I need to go through! I really hope I get through those interviews! Tutor had advised us to write a rejection letter but I laughed at it. Seriously I'm pessimistic about my SIP interview! I'll be really happy if I could secure just one job!!
And I really hate the feeling when I know the friends that I cared are drifting apart from me! I feel really sad because I might not even be important to them! Seriously if you just wanna make use of me then please don't act as if you are really nice to me!

Year 3
Okay I'm really grateful that my aunt bought back souvenirs of Messi from Spain! So I'm a happy girl!!
Signed up for the SA programme by Far East Organization! A four days attachment with them during Jun holidays,! Yayness! Woke up at 0600 in the morning just to be able to grab a spot for this attachment! Only 8 person will be able to go! So yeah all 8 people are friends! Hope I can gain some experience before I go for SIP! Looking forward.
And to say about SIP, HTM sip is the longest put of so many courses! It's freaking 5 months! And yeah the clique have alr made plans for grad trip! Excited much though it will only take place next year! I think Taiwan it shall be! Really hope my mum will keep her promise on letting me go!!
And I also sign up as a volunteer for the graduation day!! Yes no lessons for 2 days!

soft-hearted
seriously am i too soft-hearted?!
in my previous post, i was ratting about how this person treated me but now it seems that i've forgiven her after she gave in!
started talking to her like normal when i knew she lost her phone.
but seriously i'm not the type of person who can act like nothing has happened when in actual fact something has indeed happened.
i've this strong urge to reason it out with her.
but sister say it's better not.

so today woke up early to bring furkids for wagging tail competition but unfortunately, this time round there were too many strong competitors, there were a total of 21 dogs participating. like OMG. anyway at least get to bring furkids out which is like a rare chance.
p.s i've realised the amount of vulgarities that has come out from me has tripled since i entered poly. i don't understand why. people are enjoying their poly life but why i don't seems to enjoy at all?
btw now i no longer cared about gng to which class anymore since i'm alr used to being alone this sem. ahahaha. but i sure do hope that i get my fair share of happiness in my last sem of poly life before my internship! =]

Quarrels
Okay recently i'm relying on Amd too much! I mean like in terms of ratting to her! I hope she don't mind! Have been like a nuisance!
Anyway it's has been a long time since i quarrel with a friend. Like seriously, what i hate most is when people show me attitude or throw their temper at me! and she did both! It's like `hey you are unhappy with the other person and you start showing attitude towards me' and i was like treated like some dog because you don't want me to help other people! Hello there was no customer and you are only a leader!
And when someone wanted to treat us, i didnt forced that person with a guy or what!! I alr told him nevermind, joking with you only! But he insist, so i went ahead to buy, AND i chose all sorts of flavours those that i don't like! I only ate one the rest were shared among the rest!! And you freaking say i'm ridiculous! Come on larhx what is wrong with my actions!
You shld be the one who shld reflect on ur actions.

work started and it sucks having to work with people you dislike.
but i've been telling myself this: i'm only facing them for 9days.
the terrible 4 months i've also endured, and what happen if next time when i enter the working world, i meet people whom i dislike.
so now i'm learning to smile and talk to people though i don't like them at all. that's so HTM. ahahah.
anyway work yesterday was boring for me. sitting at the redemption counter and eating alone. but luckily sister came and had dinner with me, and also a free ride homeee. woohoo. this make up for the nasty day i had. =]

like a fool
spell to me F-R-E-E-D-O-M!!! yay, my anticipated holiday is finally here.
i'm gonna watch all my variety/dramas, gonna nua at homeee.
but work starting next week. i think if there's a chance to work at taka, i'l just go.
because the little money accumulates, so ya. and it's near tpy also.
but my work schedule seriously sucks like nobody business that kind.
i'm gonna be a loner for lunch & dinner alr. get used to it.
okay, i pet shelter this Friday!! OMG, i can't hide my excitement.
those furry fellows, they were my source of motivation and encouragement, whenever i feel sad or nervous. i missed them.
okay, i'm gonna i hope Amd like what i did!
on a sad note: i feel like a fool sometimes. sometimes it seems that friendships are being treasured.
at times i feel so much like a fool, it seems that i'm always the one putting extra efforts in maintaining a friendship yet the other person don't really appreciate it. then when i don't believed in any true friendship there comes another one. =[
